Death and the Miser

A man lies on his deathbed. Death stands at the door, arrow drawn. An angel at his pillow points to the crucifix above the window; salvation. A small lizard- demon under the bed offers a final bag of coins; one last bribe. The man's right hand, even now in the moment of dying, reaches for the coins.
