The Arnolfini Portrait

The convex mirror is famous for reflecting the room from behind, including the painter. What most viewers miss is the frame around it. It holds ten roundels, each smaller than a fingernail, each painted with a different scene from the Passion of Christ. Van Eyck painted ten Passion paintings inside one wedding painting.
